Session Name: Plant diagnostic clinic data handling: Lessons Learned
Session Number: 1014
Location: Mendenhall
Day and Time: Tuesday, 10:45 - 11:30 am
Format: Panel
Topic: Customer Service
Level: Introductory

Session Abstract:

This session has been canceled.
The NCSU Plant Disease and Insect Clinic has been at the forefront of database development for managing sample data and reporting to clients since 1989. This presentation will briefly review two successful previous databases in use since 1990. The majority of the time we will be demonstrating the just released PDIC database. Ease of use, short learning curve, rich feature set, support for distance diagnosis via images and support for account creation and login by the general public make this the most useful database to date. Extension IT has again placed the PDIC out in front in the effort to develop a user friendly database that captures information required for participation in the National Plant Diagnostic Network. The live demonstration of the database will be followed by ample time for Q&A.
