Notes from previous activities preparing for PLN 2009.
Issues
The August 2009 SR-PLN meeting will emphasize cross committee work and discussions. Each committee is being asked to submit two issues that are opportunities for Extension in the current environment to further serve our clients in a multi-disciplinary way or issues that cross those disciplines that are affecting Extension directly. Please add your thoughts below.
Potential issues for cross committee focus (add lines as needed):
- As mentioned in this year's theme, how does Extension remain relevant in a world of crowded information resources and keep pace with the rapidly changing landscape?
- What options and innovations are possible for developing different funding streams?
- How can we integrate Extension into other areas of land-grant universities and other research universities?
[ The above three issues were submitted to the Rachel Welborn (for the Program Leadership Committee) on May 22, 2009. ]
Committee and Administrative Advisor Engagement
How can the committee and our Administrative Advisor make the best use of our meeting time together? For example, we might use the time do talk about critical issues facing IT in Extension, work on our committee action items, or discuss our plan of work. Add your items below:
- I would like hear ideas on how to approach and convince program leaders that technology use is no longer a different medium, but a way of life. How can we use technology for becoming more efficient, more effective, and become more engaged in communities?
