Title: Western IPM Center: What We’re Doing for You

Abstract: The Western Regional IPM Center (WIPMC) is funded through CSREES 406 Integrated Program funding to provide increase collaboration and coordination among institutions and individuals involved with IPM research, extension and implementation. WIPMC is an important resource in the western region responsible for funding a variety of programs that facilitate communication through Network grants; needs assessment through Pest Management Strategic Plans; research through IPM grants program; integrating with other pest management programs (SARE, IR-4, NRCS, Water Quality etc.); and delivery of pest management ideas throughout the region. The proposed symposium will provide an overview of the WIPMC programs, highlight program success stories and provide insight into pest management approaches in the western region.
