4. Briefly describe any administrative changes that have occurred or will be occurring at your institution in 2009/2010

University of Tennessee Extension

We are currently searching for two state level administrators: an Assistant Dean for Agriculture and Natural Resources and an Assistant Dean for 4-H Youth. The goal is to have individuals named by January 1, 2010.


University of Kentucky

Karen Ramage moved from a District Director assignment joining the administrative group as Assistant Director of Operations replacing part of Paul Warner’s administrative role. Karen was replaced as District 7 Director by Matt Fulkerson, formerly the horticultural agent for Hopkins County. Candidates have been identified for District 3 Director to replace Richard Carraway who passed away unexpectedly at the end of June.

University of Florida

  • Dr. Larry Arrington – Interim Senior Vice – President of Agriculture and Natural Resources
  • Dr. Millie Ferrer-Chancy – Interim Dean and Director Florida Cooperative Extension
  • Dr. Tom Obreza – Interim Associate Dean and Director Florida Cooperative Extension
  • Dr. Eric Simonne has been named District Extension Director – Northeast District
  • Dr. Nick Commerford named Center Director North Florida Research and Education Center – Marianna, Quincy, Live Oak
  • Dr. Jackie Burns named Interim Center Director Citrus Research and Education Center
  • A search for IFAS Sr. Vice President will be announced soon. The committee has been selected and we are waiting for the official announcement from the president.

NC A&T State University

Dr. Harold Martin has been appointed as the new Chancellor. Dr. Shirley Hymon-Parker has been appointed as the Associate Dean for Research. Former Dean Dr. Alton Thompson remains Interim Provost. Dr. Donald McDowell remains Interim Dean, School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
