2. Briefly describe your program and staffing situation
University of Kentucky
The IT Section of Ag. Communications Services at the University of Kentucky supports the Research, Instruction, and Extension missions of the College.
Staffing Summary
- 1 IT Section Manager
- 1 IT Manager(also serves as a Systems Administrator)
- 1 Technical Administrator(Manages CES district techs and responsible for IT support for one district)
- 2 Systems Administrators
- 6 District Extension IT Support Technicians
- 2 Campus Support technicians
- 2 Student Workers(Helpdesk and desktop support)
Additional CES support is provided in the form of website hosting, Extension reporting, email, video conferencing support, and other Enterprise IT functions.
The Extension IT support personnel are managed by Rich Phelps. Rich directs the day to day operations of the group and coordinates long term projects for the group. This group provides direct IT/desktop support to the 120 CES county offices and other off campus Extension facilities.
There is a separate group in Ag Communications(Integrated Media—5 employees) that provides programming and database development, multimedia applications design, consultation, and training on the organization and design of sites and products.
LSU AgCenter
The LSU AgCenter IT unit supports all Information Technology initiatives for the LSU AgCenter (Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service and Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station) including Help Desk Support, Networking, Compressed Video, IT Training, Telecommunications, Web Services and Application Development

There are also several grant and departmentally funded positions that are not funded by IT, but do directly report to IT. These include several departmental technical support specialists, several application developers, and two GIS Analyst/developers.
Alabama Cooperative Extension System:
The ACES-Ag IT Unit is the primary technology support provider for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES), the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES), and the Auburn University College of Agriculture (CoAg). Key responsibilities include general end-user support and training, network infrastructure management, server administration, web and database development, and videoconferencing management.
Staffing Summary (Auburn University)
We have 14 ACES-Ag IT specialists serving Extension, Experiment Station, and College of Agriculture.

Additionally, the Extension EFNEP program, Fisheries Department, and Poultry Sciences Department each employ a locally-housed IT specialist to meet department-specific needs. Alabama A&M University employs an IT specialist who supports Extension and School of Ag personnel at that campus.
University of Tennessee IT staffing (6 total):

UT Institute of Agriculture has the following staff that Extension shares:
- 3 server administrators
- 3 web developers

- 1 administrative specialist (manages Centra & eCommerce systems)
Extension IT collaborates with UT Institute of Agriculture Technology Services for program support. Administratively, Extension IT reports to their respective regional director. UT Extension IT supports 95 county offices, 3 regional offices, and 3 4-H Centers.
NCCE Extension Information Technology (14 full time staff)
This unit provides technology leadership for the NC Cooperative Extension Service. We support county desktops, servers and networks, provide web application development, and conduct IT training.

Description:
The AgriLife IT unit supports the Extension, Research and Teaching components, including network infrastructure, web application development, video conferencing, IT related staff training, survey and evaluation, web conferencing and IT equipment purchasing. Description:
The Information Technology Staff at NC A&T State University mainly supports the computing efforts of the Research and Cooperative Extension programs. This includes the upkeep of the ag.ncat.edu domain which consists of eight servers and two hundred and fifty plus workstations.

Description: The Information and Technology Services unit at Fort Valley State University College of Ag supports the Extension, Research and Academic components of the College.
