2009 MM Social
From Extension Collaborative Wiki
4. Is your state promoting the use of web based social network sites to communicate internally and/or with Clientele? If yes, what social networks and how are they being used?
Georgia
Georgia uses social networks with the primary emphasis on 4-H and Facebook. The state 4-H office maintains the “Official “State 4-H Page on Facebook. Facebook is preferred because the office feels it provides them better control over the site. The site has several functions including directing 4-Her’s to announcements on the main 4-H website but also keeping alumni informed of activities and opportunities for volunteering. Camping programs involving high school 4-Hers have published videos on U-Tube and also conducted camp “events” on Facebook. District 4-H officers have groups on Facebook
