Coordinator - Extension Organizational Development (Mary Ellen Blackburn, Associate Professor) Report to Director of County Operations. Coordinate statewide staff development for county faculty; contribute support to administration as needed. 

Reporting and Accountability Coordinator (Marcie Simpson - appointed August 1, 2007) Report to Associate Dean for Extension and Ag. Business Office. Coordinate reporting system for all faculty. Compile reports (including federal reports). 

Liaison, Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) / Cooperative Extension (Jeff Christie - appointed August 1, 2007). Serves as liaison to ACCG promoting Extension (70%). Also coordinates the Extension Leadership System initiative (30%). The cost of the position and expenses are shared equally i.e. each 50%. The person is considered an ACCG staff person by ACCG and has an office in their state office in downtown Atlanta. The Liaison attends ACCG staff meetings, new commissioner training, policy committee meetings and assorted legislative meeting. 

Dr. Nick Fuhrman has been hired in Ag. Leadership, Education and Communication (replaces Dr. Richard Rohs)focusing on Evaluation, with 70% Extension/30% Teaching appointment.

Della A. Baker, State Program Leader for Evaluation, Accountability, and Staff Development, Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service reports to Chief Operating Officer for Extension. She administers training needs assessments, plans training in professional development competency areas for staff and is responsible for institutional, state, and federal accountability reports. One staff member coordinates the Clemson University Management Information System (100%) and another staff member (100%) serves as a computer consultant the upstate counties.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension Program Development Unit is located within the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education at Virginia Tech in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The unit includes Dr. Nancy Franz, Professor/Extension Specialist Program Development (100% extension), Dr. Heather Boyd, Assistant Professor/Extension Specialist Program Evaluation (70% extension, 30% research), and Ms. Debbie Carroll, administrative assistant (50% time).

The Unit has responsibility for implementing and supporting program situation analysis, program design and implementation, program evaluation and reporting, and related staff development. This includes federal and state plan of work and annual reporting tasks.

Staff includes one administrative position, two specialist/faculty positions and the Extension personnel director. The administrative position is currently in transition due to retirements.  Duties are divided among professional staff and include guiding programming processes, work with advisory council system, new agent orientation and training, management of the mentor program, system-wide evaluation, preparation of state and federal reports, providing accountability data to stakeholders throughout Extension system and the University, development &amp; coordination of in-service education system, coordination of county and state affirmative action plans, recruitment and hiring of county Extension Agents, and coordination of the summer intern program.

Kentucky State University - One state specialist serves program and staff development area. Duties include compiling data for accountability reports; survey staff for development needs and interests; survey stakeholders regarding program recommendations and satisfaction; develop and facilitate professional development workshops; engage outside presenters; provide technical assistance to staff; enhance internal communication systems; and connect with professional peers in program and staff development.

While there is no formal department within ACES that has full responsibilities for program development activities there are several employees that focus attention to such efforts.  Training efforts are coordinated and/or conducted by ACES Communications, ACES/Ag Computer Technology Department and ACES Human Resources.  Employees receive training through the Employee Orientation program coordinated by Ms. Carolyn Reedus.  Employees are encouraged to utilize the training offered through the AAMU Human Resources Office, the AU Human Resources Office, the AA/EEO offices of both universities.   Several courses through the AU Human Resources Office have been utilized for ACES employees and they participate via distance technology at remote sites and/or via Scopia Desktop.  Dr. Anne Adrian and others in the IT area have provided many sessions on the use of social media and other ways to utilize technology in program delivery.
