Need to be considering who will be next year's vice chair elect. === Professional Development discussion === * IT SIG has been coordinating with eXtension, using Iowa State's Connect for Web conferences. 20-25 minutes and Q&A. All sessions are recorded for watching if you miss a topic, or want to watch it later * Several topics have been done in the past year * Other topics suggested: Flickr, OpenID, Using eXtension wiki, Portable disk imaging * Need more topics, and people to teach topics * Suggested: as go through sessions this week, keep in mind that some of these topics may lend themselves to wanting a follow-up session for ACE IT SIG * Request for presenters * Suggestions: ** SmugMug (for managing online photos) ** Widgets ** Show examples for extension uses of wikis and blogs- Applied (Anne volunteered!) ** interesting applications of some technology that's not new, but used in a new way ** SharePoint Services ** Wikis in SharePoint ** SlideShare (Roger volunteered :)) ** Online Surveys ** How to find out about new technologies ** More with Moodle -- show & tell, lessons's learned, model course ** How do we, as information technlogy professionals ** How to deal with administration in our institutions ** How to managing expectations ** How to work with campus-wide technology groups more effectively ** Alfresco (an open source CMS) ** Elluminate ** Account and Password management * May want to do some longer (hour) sessions on more in-depth topics * Discussion topics that would draw in more IT folks would be good! Good to have topics that introduce a technology that everyone may not use, but as professionals they want to be aware and knowledgeable about * Comment that many NETC sessions lend themselves to recorded PD session, and then NETC could be used for more discussions and collaborations * Link state provided Recordings on topics (ie, Becky mentioned Office 2007 Transition trainings) to the ACE SIG wiki site to share with other members. === ACE/NETC 2009 === * Hosted by Iowa State * DesMoines * Contact Floyd or others with ideas for content, etc. * Discussion on recording some sessions
