Creating Links in MediaWiki - internal transcript
From Extension Collaborative Wiki
Following is a transcript of the screencast:
This week we are adding links from your article to other pages. You may link to items within the wiki, other webpages, and also categories. We’ll be covering links to images next week.
First we’ll show you how to add a link to your own article on your user page.
Once you've logged in, from any page in the wiki, go to your user page. Click edit. Type in your article title exactly as you named it. Remember, case and spelling matter. Select the title. On the toolbar, click the internal link button, that has the AB on it. The double brackets on both sides of the title are the wiki mark-up for the internal link. Add your summary comment, and save.
There is my title, and you’ll see it’s blue. If your title is shown in red text, you’ll know it’s not typed quite the same as your article is named, and you’ll need to fix it.
Click the link, and there’s our article. You might think this is an easy way to get to your article to work on it.
