2008 ACE Critique & Awards Program

The annual ACE Critique & Awards Program is designed to help ACE members and other communicators achieve professional excellence through constructive criticism and to recognize those individuals who exhibit excellence in their work. The emphasis of this program is on “critique,” with entries evaluated on content, effectiveness, creativity and technical production. Critique & Awards is open to anyone who has produced communications projects or programs within the past year for an organization in the public sector. With the exception of entries submitted to the diversity category, non-English entries must provide an English translation. Entries that were produced or received by the intended audience between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2007, are eligible for the 2008 program. Entries for the 2008 C&A Program must arrive at Headquarters by January 25, 2008, to be eligible.

The Award of Excellence

The Award of Excellence recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the SIG area as well as leadership and involvement in ACE. A recipient may be either a current or a past member of the SIG. Nominees may be nominated by anyone in ACE. Completed forms are to be returned to the appropriate SIG chair by February 15, 2008 in time for selections to be made and awards prepared. Details about the Award of Excellence can be found at http://www.aceweb.org/award/excellence.html

The Professional Award

The Professional Award is the highest recognition given by the Association for Communication Excellence to one of its members. The award recognizes excellence and professionalism in an agricultural communicator. It is based on achievements over an extended period (at least three years) and on participation in and support of ACE. Members must be nominated by a fellow member to be considered for the award.

Nomination for the award shall include a general description of the member’s job, specific accomplishments in carrying out job assignments, indications of impact of member’s communication efforts, participation in and service to ACE, and other achievements that document the excellence of professional competence. A nomination shall be made by submitting a completed nomination form to the ACE president by February 15, 2008.
