Food Safety for Small to Very Small Food Processor's Objectives

The goal of this Community of Practice (CoP) is to collaborate on a comprehensive, web-based educational resource that addresses food safety concerns relevant to the Community of Interest, small food processing establishments.

The specific objectives of the CoP are to:

(1) Meet the emerging food safety information needs of small food establishments in the areas of food production, processing, transportation, retail and food service; and

(2) Communicate with the public regarding emerging food safety research and new technology, on issues ranging from food production, the marketing chain, to the consumer’s responsibility for keeping foods safe.


The CoP will address the needs of the CoI using eXtension, the nation’s largest educational and information system.
