How to Add or Edit Content on This Page
Why use the Collaborate wiki?
This wiki is a place to keep track of what we’re doing; why we’re doing it; and who’s involved in the project. The wiki doesn’t take the place of other forms of communication, but it provides a common work space. Everyone can add content (see below for how to), edit content (edit tab), make comments (discussion tab), and track changes (history tab).
First, sign in to eXtension:
Go to: http://people.extension.org
1. Log in.
2. Click on "Collaborate Wiki" at the top of the page
3. Log in (again) by clicking "Login with Open ID" button on top right of page.
4. Return to main page. Scroll down and click on "NCERA 209 Community of Practice" (under "Collegial and Ad Hoc")
You are ready to add and edit content.
To edit a page
1. Choose the page you wish to edit.
2. Click the "edit" tab at the top.
3. Make edits, using tabs at top for formatting (boldface, italic, underline, etc.) Note: Paragraphs and line breaks must be double-spaced using hard or soft returns in order for them to be recognized. If you don't use double line spaces, the information will appear as one long paragraph.
4. When done, add information in "Summary" box near the bottom explaining what you did (e.g., "added team members, revised formatting")
5. Click "Save page" button at bottom of page (You can click "Preview" if you want to check the document before saving)
To add a page
1. Go to Main Page of NCERA 209 Community of Practice
2. Click "New page" in the right hand column
3. Add title of page (must be exact title you want to have on the main page)
4. Click "Create page" button
5. Start typing content, or copy and paste from MS Word file
6. Add formatting (boldface, italics, etc.)
7. If you wish, you can click the "Show preview" button at the bottom of the page to see how your page will look when it's online.
8. When you're done, type in a summary of the page in the "Summary" box and click the "Save page" button.
To make the new page accessible on the NCERA 209 page (this is important)
1. Go to NCERA 209 main page
2. Click "edit" tab
3. Add title of new page by putting the name of new page (title must be exact name of the new page you just created) in double brackets
4. Add summary of how you changed this title page
5. Click "Save page" button
Other commands:
Move:
If the title of the page is not correct (there was a typo or you want to change the title all together), click on "Move," correct it here, give reason, and click "Move page."
Watch:
Sends me an email when pages are edited. BE SURE to check "My Preferences" and be sure email is authenticated, and then go back and check "Email me when a page on my watchlist is changed."
To remove watchlist, go to "My Watchlist and View and edit watchlist.
