Creating your MediaWiki User Page

Steps to creating your User page:

  1. Start from http://collaborate.extension.org home page
  2. Log in
    1. click on the log in text in the top right hand corner of your screen
    2. select the User name text box
    3. enter your user name
    4. press tab
    5. enter your password
    6. press the Log in button
    • You are now logged in
  3. Go to your personal User page
    1. click on your eXtension ID text box at the top right hand side of the page
    • You will be presented with your blank User page
  4. Edit personal information
    1. in the Views navagation, click Edit text box
    2. enter personal information: name, title
    3. press enter twice, which creates a blank line
    4. enter email address
    5. press enter twice
    6. enter content
    7. scroll to bottom of page
    8. click in summary box
    9. describe edits, e.g., “added text to user page”
    10. important: press Save page button to save work
  5. Editing your talk page
    1. click on the my talk text box
    2. click on edit to reply to a message or leave a new message
    3. type message/reply in text box
    4. put Signature on comments
      1. signature, type four ~ tilde symbols, or click on the signature icon
      • sign all entries you place on discussion or talk pages
