Six Phases of Project
The project can be summarized in six phases:
Phase 1: Collect baseline information on the target population related to investment concerns, learning preferences, and barriers to changing financial management behaviors. The market analysis will include a situation analysis, consumer analysis, competitor analysis, an IFYF self-assessment, and specific performance objectives.
Phase 2: Adapt IFYF for the target audience and add features possible on the Internet such as expanded Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and Ask the Experts (ATE) functions, chat rooms, and links to resources. (NOTE, Extension professionals are educators and do not offer specific investing advice.)
Phase 3: Pilot test IFYF with participants in Annie’s Project, a successful Extension program for farm women designed to increase knowledge about farm and family financial management.
Phase 4: Further adapt IFYF to meet the needs of the target population.
Phase 5: Use various distribution mechanisms to market IFYF to farm households nationwide and position the program for sustainability through existing Extension networks.
Phase 6: Evaluate the effectiveness of IFYF increasing investing knowledge and positive behavior change by participants.
