Help for Working in the Wiki
What is a “wiki”?
In a nutshell, it’s a virtual space ideal for working on collaborative projects. Wikipedia is probably the most well-known wiki.
Who can use the University of Maine Cooperative Extension wiki?
PLTs, committees, login groups, any Extension employee with an eXtension ID.
Where do I get an eXtension ID?
Go to http://people.extension.org and sign up.
Can I use this wiki for projects that aren’t a part of eXtension?
Yes! You can use this wiki for any UMaine Cooperative Extension project.
How do I get started?
If you’re familiar with wikis and already have an eXtension ID, simply login and create a new page or edit an existing one.
If you’re new to wikis, check out the following helpful resources:
- Best practices for naming pages

You are welcome to contact me at mailto:cindyet@umext.maine.edu with your questions. I’m just learning how to use wikis, too, but would be glad to help you out.
