Hi Sandy, I use google earth for showing my farmers their trials early in the season. I really like the program but need to learn more. Welcome to the learning group here. -- Denise McWilliams--Denisemcwilliams 18:55, 22 February 2007 (EST)

Hi Sandy! Can't wait to hear about your method for using Google Earth to geocode pictures. I will be sure to include it in future Pictures, Points and Places workshops... Shanebradt 11:06, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Google Earth Use
Sandy--Just this morning I had a breeze online information training program with our neighboring state of Arizona and others with a project called "Climas" which also includes a monthly newsletter out of Arizona that pulls in climate, water and reservoir information from both AZ and NM. Greg Garfin there is now pulling in some google earth pictures that he is overlaying with climate data or icons showing forecasted snow melt. Also, NRCS must be using google earth more, as one picture used on the breeze conference today was http://www.wcc.nrcs.usda.gov/wsf/earth/index.html . I hope more use of the program continues as an overlay. But, my real interest is real time crop condition and estimation using satellite photography. When up in ND/MN, the state Ag Stats there, due to limited resources and personnel, wanted to utilize photos for cropping acreage estimatation across ND. It was difficult, especially at early stages of broadleaf crop growth. But, I think it would be possible.--Denisemcwilliams 17:10, 23 February 2007 (EST)
Hey Sandy, have you hooked up Denise with Barron? Wonder if RangeView[1] would have any utility in this area?--Ahays 14:09, 28 February 2007 (EST)
