In this demonstration, we’ll look at using bold and italic to add emphasis to specific words.

From your article page, click edit. Here I’ll select the word Technorati, and click the icon in the toolbar for italics. Notice the two single quote marks on each side of the word Technorati. That’s the wiki mark-up for italics.

Next I’ll select the words fifty seven million blogs, and click the icon in the toolbar for bold. The three single quote marks on each side is the wiki mark-up for bold. Scroll to the bottom, add summary comments, and click save page. Here you see the article with the italics and bold added.

Your second activity is to determine appropriate uses for italics and bold, then add that emphasis to your article.
